Hi

MAKE YOUR LANDSCAPE SPARKLE WITH BLUE! Need a little color in your landscape? Blue palms

Gregory Palm Farms THE GROWER!

(714) 814-8525

Today I was walking around the farm and the Blue Hesper palm caught my eye! This palm is a famously hardy blue palm from Mexico. These little beauties are a wonderful accent to any landscape. They are slow growing and easy to maintain. They have a nice full head of Blueish colored fan leaves and are perfect for our Southern California environment. They can be planted in a sunny spot in the garden or even partial shade, however, a well drained soil is a must! The palm can withstand -10 degree Celsius winters when mature and even droughts!

We have  24'' boxes and 30'' boxes of these guys, and they go quick! Give us a call today to take a look at these awesome palms!

Have a wonderful day!

WOW! CANARY PALMS IN ACTION!

Good Morning!

Gregory Palm Farms presents this large majestic palm, with a very solid trunk, and long feather leaves with spine petioles. Quite a popular plant due to its hardiness, attractiveness and speed of growth. Very good for adding a Mediterranean feel.

Gregory Palm Farm's staff are very knowledgeable in the entire process of helping you select your palm, preparing it to be dug and transferring it to be installed in your home.  It took large machinery to be able to lift it from where it was dug and transfer it to onto a semi . Such beautiful specimens do carry quite the weight and the roots add on to it.

For more of this majestic palms and many others give us a call at 714-814-8525 or come by our farms to see them in person.

Have A Great Day!

CANARY ISLAND DATE PALM VERSUS PHOENIX DACTYLIFERA MEDJOOL DATE PALM - WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?- GREGORY PALM FARMS 714-814-8525 - WE ARE THE CANARY ISLAND DATE PALM DEPOT

Hi!

What is the difference between a Canary Island Date Palm and a Medjool Date Palm (in the Phoenix Dactylifera family)??

WHAT REALLY MATTERS IS WHERE IT'S GOING AND THE ACCESS TO GET IT THERE.

The Canary Island Date Palm are a one of a kind wonder! They are robust and gorgeous! A real statement to any landscape.

Below, an 18 foot Canary...

Below, 18 foot Medjool Date Palms.

We had to crane these Medjools over the house to the back yard.

However, the weight difference between a Canary Palm and a Medjool palm is a Canary Palm is FOUR times the weight of a Medjool: Canary 1,000 pounds per foot where the Medjool is about 250.

When you are talking about a crane,  up  in the air, over a house to the back of a property, A very large crane is needed. Simple math: heavy Palm, big crane bill.

What are you looking for?

What is your dream?

Let us help you find the perfect tree with the perfect installation.

Homeowners Beware!!

When shopping for palm trees, especially Canary Island Date Palms, BUYER BEWARE!

Unfortunately, in the palm tree business there are a lot of ""brokers" that have very little or no experience in growing, trimming, transporting or installing Canary Island Palm Trees. They usually contract with homeowners to pay them for the removal of their palm trees. Once the broker has the tree under contract, they start advertising that they have "Canary Island Palm Trees" for sale at a bargain price.

Most of these brokers are NOT certified nursery growers or contractors, so they are not familiar with removing and installing these types of trees. Because Canary Island Palms are very susceptible to Fusarium wilt disease which is highly contagious and will eventually kill the tree, most brokers don't know how to identify this disease in a tree and end up selling infected trees to unsuspecting homeowners.

At Gregory Palm Farms, we are certified growers and licensed contractors, so we stand behind our trees with a 100% guarantee. THE PALM GROWER WITH OVER 40 YEARS EXPERIENCE!

Our trees are all checked and we go to great lengths to make sure our trees are disease free.

We are in the process of installing 6 Canary Palm Trees in Del Mar, CA. of which two of the 6 trees are replacements for bad trees sold and installed by a broker that refused to stand behind their installation. Not only that, the trees they installed were less than acceptable grade trees.

Here are some pictures of the Canary Island Palm Trees being removed, tied up and loaded on the truck for shipment to the install location.

If you are planning to install multiple Canary Island or other types of palm trees, call us today for a FREE consultation.
We
will come to your home or project site and help with the complete overall design and recommend the best trees for your installation. Call (714) 814-8525 to schedule an appointment today!

The Mediteranean Fan Palm is a clumping palm tree, growing slowly to 20 feet high, trunks 4 to 5 inches in diameter, covered with fibrous dead leaf petioles; triangular, fan-shaped blue-grey to green leaves 36 to 48 inches long and wide with spiny petioles. It is a shrub-like clumping palm, with several stems growing from a single base. The stems grow slowly and often tightly together, eventually reaching 16-20 feet tall with a trunk diameter of 4-5 inches. It is a fan palm, with the leaves a long petiole terminating in a rounded fan of 10-20 leaflets; each leaf is up to 3-4 feet long, with the leaflets 1 - 2 feet long. It also has numerous sharp needle-like spines produced on the leaf stems; these protect the stem growing point from browsing animals. The flowers are born in dense, short clusters at the top of the stems; it is usually (but not invariably) dioecious with male and female flowers on separate plants. The fruit is a brown drupe 1/2 - 3/4 inches long.
