Mexican Fan Palms soar to over 100 ft this skyscraper of the palm world is a striking sight when planted at equal intervals along a boulevard or when snuggled up in groups against high rise buildings.
Use the Mexican Fan Palm for formal groupings, street plantings, and groves in large open areas - these are the palms planted along Venice Beach and other California beaches. Young plants can be grown in containers and give a tropical look to patios and decks.
Mexican Fan Palm characteristics are long and slender, single trunk, wider at base. Dead fronds persist to form a 'skirt' They can handle exposure from full sun, wind, heat, and cold hardy down to approximately −10 °C (14°F).
Mexican Fan Palms have low water needs and can grow in just about any type of soil. They have a fast growth rate and can often reach 60' - 100' in height.
Call us today if you would like to install some Mexican Fan Palm trees from Gregory Palm Farms to enhance the beauty and value of your home. (714) 814-8525/949)610-6624 http://gregorypalmfarms.com

One of the quickest ways to kill a Phoenix Dactylifera (Date Palm) or a Phoenix Canariensis (Canary Island Date Palm) is to over-water it with poorly draining soil. Such is the case in these pictures below. This Phoenix Dactylifera was properly installed at the customer site with a french drain and properly prepared soil. However, the water level wasn't being monitored by the landscape maintenance personnel and as a result the tree died. More is better? Not in the case of water!
At Gregory Palm Farms, all of our Phoenix Dactylifera and Phoneix Canariensis trees are installed with a french drain to allow for proper watering and draining. However, these drains need to be monitored to make sure that the trees aren't being over-watered and the roots left in standing water as was the case with this tree. It might seem like a lot of work. It's NOT! The landscape maintenance crew are there anyway, they should spot check the pipes. AND MAKE SURE THE PIPE TOPS ARE NOT COVERED!! It takes less than a minute. AND IF YOU WOULD LIKE A MAINTENANCE PROGRAM, GREGORY PALM FARMS DOES THAT AS WELL.
Proper installation with a french drain, watering schedule and appropriate feeding along with monitoring the drainage will insure a healthy growing tree. These trees are very expensive to replace, so proper care and maintenance is critical to keep the trees healthy.
Root ball of an over-watered tree - water didn't drain! So, now it is really stinky with putrid water. The palm literally died from mold and goo.
Removal of the over-watered tree
Standing water in the root area caused this tree to die - make sure the air pipes are installed and are checked for drainage! That's why we put them in!!!
Clean out all damaged soil and replace with sand.

WHY SHOULD YOU HAVE YOUR CANARY ISLAND DATE PALMS TRIMMED?
Here we are at a customer's home with a 12' Canary in need of a proper trim. Why? As the tree grows, water and dirt get in between the cut fronds and they start to deteriorate. Once a Canary Palm is 8' tall, it's time for a diamond cut trim job! Who can take care of your palms best? Gregory Palm Farms. Who can you get beautiful Canary palms from? Gregory Palm Farms Call or text or email today! (714)814-8525 gregpalms1@gmail.com
Sometimes, Canary Palm owners prefer to have the more natural trunk design rather than the trimmed or skinned trunk design. The problem is, after time the fronds will fall off and the trunks look spotted or junky.
Here, you can see that if you wait long enough, the fronds simply pull off! It's okay for a while, but then moisture could get in and damage the tree. Do yourself and your Canary Island Date Palm a favor, trim your palm.
Gregory Palm Farms makes house calls because often times, the customer needs more assistance and clarity while we need to see access before the final details of the purchase is made.
For example, we went to La Mesa's job and found the only efficient and safe way to install 6 Date Palms was up and over the house. That feature added about $2,500.00 to the purchase.
This situation is not the same!
At La Mesa, the desired location is in the front yard The planters are completed however with minimum cement curbing. And lasting, we are making sure the area is large enough to accommodate the palms of their choice and that is essential. They are and we will be install in a week!
What to do now? First, We Call DigAlert to make sure to hidden pipes we don't know about!
Next, We are prepping the palms, Medjool Dates and Triangle Palms, for delivery and installation.
Don't bother going anywhere else! We take care of you!

GREGORY PALM FARMS!
Here is what Kevin said on YELP:
"I was nervous selling my Canary Palms. But Gregory Palm Farms followed through on all their promises. They paid upfront. They extract the palms carefully. Afterwards they fixed my sprinklers and backfilled the holes with quality soil. Gregory Palm Farms even planted two young Canary Palms to replace those they removed. Who does that?"

Yesterday, a wonderful client from Long Beach came in to look at some King palms and ended up with something totally different. She was looking for something with a rich green color, like an evergreen. Some of the more tropical palms that she initially liked werent as vibrant as she thought, mainly beacuse of the hot summer weathering the palms.
We took a walk around the entire farm, scounting and searching for what she invisioned. The palms that caught her eye was the Mediteranean fan, Mexican, and the Sago. Other palms that stay evergreen are the Canary Island date palm, Reclinata palm, and the Pygmy date palm.
The Sago palm won her over and she was so excited for her new palms. She went with this Specimen Sago palm and another smaller sago. These palms are going to liven up the yard and give it a fresh new look!
Call us today, and make an appointment to come see our palms!
Well since we have grandchildren, it's even more important than it ever was!
A GREAT REASON: PROTECTING THE LAND FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS!
NO CHEMICALS of any kind, not for weeds or fertilizer or anything!
Did you know that that, Roundup has a huge class action lawsuit for its cancer causing properties! And that's just one chemical! They change the composition to mitigate lawsuits but it's all BAD.
When you walk around other giant stores like HomeDepot, Lowes or Other stores and plant retailers, You can clearly smell the chemicals. Where does it go when you breathe those foul smells in?
For most people, chemicals are a first grab for any weeds. The problem with that is you carry those chemicals on your shoes, into your car, and through your home to your skin!!
COME WHERE THERE IS NO WORRY! THE ENVIRONMENT IS BEAUTIFUL, CLEAN, FRESH AND READY. WALK AROUND AND PICK YOUR PALM WITH CONFIDENCE THAT GOES BEYOND THE PALM TREE!
Weeds, You ask? Yes, we have weeds and its a lot of work keeping up with them. IT'S WORTH IT!
How large does the hole for a giant palm need to be? A TRIPLE QUEEN PALM! A SPECIMEN PALM.
Check this out! The hole has to be slightly larger than the root ball! In this case, the root ball is 4 feet by 4 feet by 4 feet. So, the hole that we dug is 5 feet by 5 feet by 5 feet! The hole is larger to give those
precious roots room to grow and thrive as well as room for the clean washed sand. DON'T FORGET THE SAND!
