Hey everyone! In this hot summer heat make sure to keep those palm trees watered! Whether it be by sprinker, drip, or hose watering make sure they are getting enough with all this heat!
A watered palm is a happy palm :)

Use Drip lines to hydrate your palm trees instead of the standard sprinkler system.

If you have automatic drip or sprinkler lines, be sure to check these pipes/hoes at least once a month, Or have your landscaper.  

   WHY? Beautiful Canary Island Date Palms and Medjool Date Palms have drown from too much water that does not drain.

Pasadena Historical Home Gets a Palm Tree Upgrade by Gregory Palm Farms (714) 814-8525 949)610-6624. WE DO PALMS RIGHT!

Gregory Palm Farms was recently awarded the contract to upgrade this historical house in Pasadena.

So, we got to work, quick fast like!

First,  we removed a large pine tree in the front yard. All that debris! wow!!  We  replaced it with a beautiful, mature Canary Island Date Palm Tree. We then added some Kentia Palms and Sagos to the front of the house. Lastly,  we finished it off with Fan Palms and Triangle Palms in the backyard.

Gregory Palm Farms makes house calls because often times, the customer needs more assistance and clarity while we need to see access before the final details of the purchase is made. 

For example, we went to La Mesa's job and found the only efficient and safe way to install 6 Date Palms was up and over the house. That feature added about $2,500.00 to the purchase.

This situation is not the same! 

At La Mesa, the desired location is in the front yard  The planters are completed however with minimum cement curbing. And lasting, we are making sure the area is large enough to accommodate the palms of their choice and that is essential. They are and we will be install in a week! 

What to do now? First, We Call  DigAlert to make sure to hidden pipes we don't know about!

Next, We are prepping the palms, Medjool Dates and Triangle Palms, for delivery and installation.

The Cycas Revoluta, or commonly known as the Sago Palm, is a wonderful plant for both indoor and outdoor use. It looks great in the shrub border or as an accent on an expanse of lawn or near the patio. Use in entryways or in rock and sand gardens. It mixes well with palms and combines well with border grass, podocarpus and camellias. The Sago Palm makes an excellent container plant for use outdoors and in the home. The Sago Palm tall trunk on older specimens, grows 8-10in diameter. It is more fern-like when small and produces offsets at base. It grows in full sun or partial shade and require a well prepared, non-alkaline soil with good drainage. Once established, the Sago Palm is fairly drought tolerant, but still requires regular watering. The Sago Palm is a slow growing palm with up to 10 ft fronds spread 3-6 ft. Mexican Fan Palms soar to over 100 ft this skyscraper of the palm world is a striking sight when planted at equal intervals along a boulevard or when snuggled up in groups against high rise buildings. Use the Mexican Fan Palm for formal groupings, street plantings, and groves in large open areas - these are the palms planted along Venice Beach and other California beaches. Young plants can be grown in containers and give a tropical look to patios and decks. Mexican Fan Palm characteristics are long and slender, single trunk, wider at base. The owner, selling the property, had a crew "trim" the old Washingtonia Robustas and the communication lines got blurred. They CUT DOWN six palms to the ground.

How big is the root ball? The root ball has to be large for the ballast of the tree. Otherwise, they don't stand and thrive.
