WHY ARE PALMS GREAT FOR OUR ENVIRONMENT?
THEY CREATE SHADE, ARE DROUGHT RESISTANT AND LARGE FOLIAGE HELPS THE SOIL!
Why choose palm trees over other types of trees? What makes a palm special one might ask? Here’s a few of the many reasons that makes palms so special.
Palms are great for our environment: Indoor and outdoor air purification. The Pygmy Date is one of the best for both indoor and outdoor purification. Palms grow many fruits we enjoy including coconuts, açaí fruit, nuts, the popular Medjool dates and even make wine. Many palms are drought resistant once established and that is a huge plus with the state wide drought many are facing.
Many palms are low maintenance and palm roots are non invasive and will not crack and ruin hardscape’s.
The longevity of the palm. Did you know some palms can live for a century?
Facts aside, I find palms so special because they create the most amazing silhouettes during a sunset and a peaceful tropical escape right outside my home, surrounding the pool and other areas. The fact that there is little to no mess and a very low need for watering is a huge plus. There’s many reasons palms are great but that would be pages So here it is short and sweet!
