Why choose palm trees over other types of trees? What makes a palm special you might ask? Here’s a few of the many reasons that makes palms so special.
Palms are great for our environment: Indoor and outdoor air purification. The Pygmy Date is one of the best for both indoor and outdoor purification. Palms grow many fruits we enjoy including coconuts, açaà fruit, nuts, the popular Medjool dates and even make wine. Many palms are drought resistant once established and that is a huge plus with the state wide drought many are facing.
Many palms are low maintenance and palm roots are non invasive and will not crack and ruin hardscape’s.
The longevity of the palm. Did you know some palms can live for a century?
Facts aside, I find palms so special because they create the most amazing silhouettes during a sunset and a peaceful tropical escape right outside my home, surrounding the pool and other areas. The fact that there is little to no mess and very low need for watering is a plus. There’s so many things both facts and reasons to me that make palms amazing but that would be pages. So here it is summed a bit short and sweet!
