King Palm - Archontophoenix Cunninghamiana

A King Palm is a widely adaptable palm that adds stately accent to any landscape. This popular, elegant, and fast-growing palm from southern and eastern Australia has grass green leaves, a slim trunk, and a long, smooth crownshaft. An easy-to-grow plant suitable for cool temperate to tropical climates, or for indoors if given bright light. The King Palm is also self-cleaning. Easy to grow with a striking appearance, Triangle Palm excels for use in landscapes. With it's unique arrangement of blue green leaves gives a bold and formal appearance. It gets its name from the bulging leaf or frond bases that grow to form a distinct 3-sided triangle shape.

All of our Triangle Palms are field grown in the rich, fertile soil of the Pauma Valley in Northern San Diego County at the base of Mt. Palomar. The Pauma Valley farm is our largest growing location of palms, and these palms can weather conditions down to 20 degrees and handle snow from Mt. Palomar a few weeks out of the year.

With these varying temperatures, we can supply cold, hardy palm trees to the Northwestern and Southeast states.

Today I was walking around the farm and the Blue Hesper palm caught my eye! This palm is a famously hardy blue palm from Mexico. These little beauties are a wonderful accent to any landscape. They are slow growing and easy to maintain. They have a nice full head of Blueish colored fan leaves and are perfect for our Southern California environment. They can be planted in a sunny spot in the garden or even partial shade, however, a well drained soil is a must! The palm can withstand -10 degree Celsius winters when mature and even droughts!

Gregory Palm Farms was recently awarded the contract to deliver and install 190+ palm trees
to the new Windset Farms greenhouse in Santa Maria, CA. This was a a Super-Sized job that had to be done in 2 weeks. Gregory Palms stepped up and completed the job in 10 days.

Windset Farms primary goal when building these new facilities was to use the latest technology
to reduce their environmental footprint and leverage sustainability options that didn't exist even
five years ago.

Gregory Palm Farms was proud to be part of that effort in providing USDA inspected and certified palm trees for this job that consisted of Windmill Palms, Mexican Fan Palms, Pygmy Date Palms, Mediterranean Fan Palms and Phoenix Dactylifera's.
