CANARY ISLAND DATE PALM VERSUS PHOENIX DACTYLIFERA MEDJOOL DATE PALM - GREGORY PALM FARMS 714-814-8525 - WHERE THE PALM GROWS

What is the difference between a Canary Island Date Palm and a Medjool Date Palm (in the Phoenix Dactylifera family)??

However, the weight difference between a Canary Palm and a Medjool palm is a Canary Palm is FOUR times the weight of a Medjool: Canary 1,000 pounds per foot where the Medjool is about 250.

When you are talking about a crane, up in the air, over a house to the back of a property, A very large crane is needed. Simple math: heavy Palm, big crane bill.

It's a very large palm that grows extremely slow. These specimens in the video are over 30 years old.

Gregory Palm Farms not only is one of Southern California's largest palm tree grower, but we have a reputation of being the "we can do it" installation expert. Here is recent installation in San Juan Capistrano. We installed a 5' Canary Island Date Palm and a 42" Olive Tree.

The install had to go through a front driveway, under the carport, around the garage, through the side yard and out the back. AND with only barely inches between the equipment and the wall or carport. We strive to complete any installation; difficult or easy with fineness.

During the past month or two, Gregory Palm Farms has been very busy installing palm trees all over Southern and Northern California.

We have installed several large residential projects from Del Mar to Napa Valley. A new face lift for the McFadden Center in Santa Ana replacing some aging Liquid Amber trees with 11 new 15 foot Phoenix Dactylifera Palm Trees.

The Roger Dunn Golf Center in Santa Ana was also home to several new palm trees for their parking lot and entrance.

Gregory Palm Farms was selected as the contractor of choice for a landscape remodel job for The Terrace Apartments in Orange, CA. This large apartment complex is near the famous Block at Orange shopping mall. This job utilized several large Washingtonia Hybrids over with over 20 foot of trunk.

We also recently completed the landscaping of Lexus of Escondido with several large Phoenix Dactylifera Palm Trees as well as the installation of several large Phoenix Canariensis for a residential homeowner in Del Mar.

A recent trip to Napa Valley also utilized a large Phoenix Canariensis that had to be trucked up a large hilltop location with narrow, winding roads. This tree was the centerpiece of a large custom home built by a couple as their dream home overlooking the Napa Valley.

Gregory Palm Farms is also in the midst of some large palm trees to several residential homes in the Yorba Linda and Anaheim Hills area.
