After the disappointing removal of a huge Canary Palm, we replaced it with this gorgeous, fat Medjool Date Palm.
The owner thought the Canary had fusarium wilt (it did not by the way) and wanted it replaced with a Medjool Phoenix Dactylifera. Nice choice. Beautiful Tree.
It's Canary Island Date Palm Season and do we have awesome palms! Check out these stunners!
Just so you know, we help with your design, installation, deliver the palms and any equipment and even make house calls to make sure the palms can go where you want them!
Want it FAST?
You pick, we deliver and install! Done! Quick beauty in a day!
We are in Glendale where a Riteaid is being transformed into an elegant wedding and reception venue. The old structure is being replaced by real art and beauty.
Check out our recent installation. More Palms to come.
We dug this dead Canary out of a Newport Coast Customer's front yard! What we have is a 8'X4'root ball...giant! When they were digging it and pulling it out, the root system just kept going!
At the bottom of the hole, water, putrid water, sitting there! The poor Canary Island Date palm drowned!
There was a broken sprinkler pipe and for probably 6 to 9 months, the water poured into the hole and sat.
What do we do with this giant root ball now? Normally, it would go to a landfill somewhere. We decided to bring it back to the farm. The landscaper was sure the tree was dying from Fusarium Wilt, it wasn't.
What's next?
What is the weight of just the root ball... 8,000 pounds
By just adding tall palms can be the start! This home in Yorba Linda stands out from the rest with the incredible Canary Palms. If you don't have that budget, Queen Palms, Date Palms, Washingtonia Robusta Fan Palms are a stunning substitute!
When height is added to your landscape makes the eyes go up and captures the entire scenery rather than just clumps of the environment.
Let Gregory Palm Farms make the difference you crave!
There is an art to trimming Canary Palms! I am sure you have seen Canaries with trunks are narrow in some places and fat in others. This poor trimming turns a Grade A tree into a D for sure.
Just like the date palms, Medjool, Dactyliferas, Machos, it's all about the proper trimming.
Each Palm should have their own chain saw, treated after each trim. These trees are worth it so take care to make sure they stay healthy. It's the small things that add up to a gorgeous Canary Palm.
Looking for a way to add a feel of luxury and exoticness to your home? Well, look no further because the Canary Island date palms are your palms for creating that tropical experience no matter how far from a beach your domicile may be. Just lounging under the shade of one of these beauties can instantly make you feel like you've been transported to some remote paradise off the equator.
Although there are some Canary Island date palms that have been recorded at a dizzying height of 131ft (40m), they typically range from 33 to 66 feet (10-20m) in height. While these palms are best suited for growing in large spaces, due to their slow growth rate they can be planted in more modest-sized yards (10ft/33m in 15 years). Its leaves can grow up to 8-15ft (2-4m) and contains up to 200 v-shaped leaflets which taper off to sharp spines at the end. The palm produces vibrant orange flower stalks (3ft/1m in length) that bear orange fruit that contains a large seed. While the fruit is edible it is usually not recommended to eat due to the fibrous pulp.
These palms are drought-tolerant and can handle a variety of soil conditions although sandy and loamy soils are preferred. Canary palms grow best in warm climates but are known to tolerate colder temperatures (no less than 20F).
