At Gregory Palm Farms, house calls make a difference! We meet you and see your location. The discussions about which palms are needed as well as the "how" to install them, is the best part of a house call. 

Our first house call was a ten year home that the owner is remodelling. The palms were to go in the back yard. Is there access? Nope, only 3' wide. 

Solution? Crane over the home. So, if you have that expense, you might as well get the height that you really want. The customer went from 6', 8', and 10' Date palms to 12', 14' and 16' for the same crane cost!

This homeowner has a new build. A few scrappy palms that were brought in by a brick layer but other than that, nothing.

How much does sand weigh? 

A LOT!  This load probably over 20,000 pounds.

Why is that important to know? 

The weight  of the sand, and the weight of the palm tree, all are intricate on the delivery of the palm trees. The trucks can only hold a specific amount of weight so knowing all the different aspects of the delivery is paramount! 

The sand is for the Palm trees and their installation! It makes a difference between a palm tree installation and a GREAT PALM TREE INSTALLATION!

HOW DOES A GRADE A CANARY ISLAND DATE PALM, TURN INTO A GRADE D?

It's really simple. Whoever trimmed the Canary was unprofessional and careless. When they trimmed the Canary's trunk, they dug too deep with either a chainsaw or cutting blade into the trunk's fiber as shown in the video below.  Basically, hacking rather than trimming. They did not  keep with the line of the width of the trunk while working their way up to the crown.

Yes, it is! The Butia Capitata aka the Jelly palm has seeds that are ripe and plump and ready to be picked and cooked! 

This palm is extremely versatile! With blueish green, curved fronds and its diamond cut trunk, this palm is also drought resistant! It is a slow grower so you can enjoy it for years and years. The root system is small so as not to destroy your planters or flatwork.
