Gregory Palm Farms not only is one of Southern California's largest palm tree grower, but we have a reputation of being the "we can do it" installation expert. Here is recent installation in San Juan Capistrano. We installed a 5' Canary Island Date Palm and a 42" Olive Tree.

The install had to go through a front driveway, under the carport, around the garage, through the side yard and out the back.  AND with only barely inches between the equipment and the wall or carport. We strive to complete any installation; difficult or easy with fineness.

HOW TO MOVE A 9,600 POUND BLACK DATE PALM? 

This Date palm is so massive! However, attention to detail is paramount when moving these

giant beasts. The rigging not only has to be safe to transport but also safe not the mar the trunk of the Date Palm. Because this Black Date Palm is 9,600 pounds, additional care has to go into the strap wrapping and the fronds have to be bound as to protect the head of the date palm from damage.

A BIG 160 TON CRANE!!!

HOW DO WE DO IT?

IT IS ALL ABOUT ORGANIZATION BECAUSE WITH A 160 TON CRANE,

TIME EQUALS BIG MONEY!!!

THE CRANE'S MONEY CLOCK STARTS WHEN IT LEAVES THE YARD, AND 

ENDS WHEN IT RETURNS!!!

TO LIFT THIS CANARY UP AND OVER CHRIS' HOME, IT TOOK A 160 TON CRANE, A SECONDARY "DOLLY" (TRUCK TRAILER),

WITH A BOOM STRETCH OF 160 FEET.

WHY THE EXTRA TRAILER? 

THE TAILER WAS THE 80,000 POUND COUNTER WEIGHT SO THE CRANE WOULDN'T FLIP OVER WITH THE WEIGHT OF THE PALM TREE.

ALL IN ALL, IT TOOK THE CRANE, THE DOLLY,  THE TRAILER AND THE SECONDARY SEMI FOR THIS JOB!

WE USED THE CRANE FOR A TOTAL OF THREE HOURS! 

THAT IS SPECTACULAR!!!

They are unique with their three sided blue-green fronds and soft beautiful colored velvet trunk. The customer wanted us to put 4 ft. BTH Triangle’s weighing in at 500 pounds, into large pots! With our Telehandler the job was completed leaving behind an amazing focal point and a happy customer.

Those palm fronds span 9 feet across creating a breathtaking photo with the blue sky in the background.  It definitely looks happy!

Who ever said Queen Palms aka Syagrus Romanzoffiana, are not spectacular has not seen them in their glory. The palms they have seen probably came from Florida and do not do well here! Those Florida Queens typically are yellowed and thinner. 

California Queen Palms are gorgeous with full feathery fronds and strong trunks! Check it out here at this huge Italian Villa called Villa Forano in Temescal Valley. We put these palms in years ago and they still are as breathtakingly beautiful today as when they were when they were first installed.
