The McFadden Center of Santa Ana Gets New Medjool Date Palm Entrance from Gregory Palms! (714) 814-8525/760)975-4605 Palm delivery and installation available too!

The McFadden Center in Santa Ana has a new look thanks to Gregory Palm Farms. All the old liquid amber trees were removed and replaced with 11 new Phoenix Dactylifera Medjool Palms.

This gave the center an "instant face lift". The Phoenix Dactylifera Date Palms are probably the second most well-known palm after the coconut and this palm produces dates. However, despite this palm being extremely adaptable to differing growing conditions; from hot, dry deserts, to wet tropics, and the cold-temperate regions, it will only produce dates in the hot, dry climates. It is also very salt-tolerant, making it good for coastal planting.
These trees were the perfect fit for the McFadden Center. Now the center looks clean and up-to-date.

Blue Hesper Palm- Brahea Armata

The Blue Hesper Palm is a famous hardy blue palm from Mexico. Stiff, fan shaped leaves of a stunning pale
blue colour. Conservatory, or sunny spot in the garden. Well drained soil, plenty of water in summer, rather
drier in winter, when it can withstand -10ºC or so when larger. It is much happier, and faster growing when
planted in the ground. To around 10 feet.

Blue Hesper Palm Characteristics
Stem/Trunk	Gray trunk with ringed appearance. Covered with a skirt of old leaves.
Exposure	Partial shade and full sun. Tolerates heat and wind as well as temperatures to 18 degrees.
Soil	Somewhat dry, sandy soil and good drainage
Water	Drought tolerant although occasional deep irrigation is recommended
Growth Rate	Slow growing to 40'
