I have had a few inquiries about the Windmill Palm...aka Trachycarpus fortunei! 

I call them our "hairy" palms. Why? They have a hairy-type trunk. It insulates them from the extreme hot and cold. They are an unusual palm with a "windmill" type head.

This Windmill is ten feet tall ... probably taller actually. See the trunk? It's really unique. Only the Windmill palm has it.

Some people don't know this palm by any other name! This palm is so unique because it actually has at least three names! Whatever you call it, call it grand. 

This slow evergreen grower can soar up to 130 feet tall! That's right! It would take a couple of lifetimes but it can!

Robust is statue, this Canary Palm is know for its diamond shaped trimmed trunk, its large, round beef, massive trunk and when its top fronds are shaped correctly, a PINEAPPLE!

Here at Gregory Palm Farms, we always have to think outside the box! In this case, outside the 

tractor! There was no water on the site for the installation of palms. What can be done? We brought in water in the little telehandler. Why? Every Palm is a gift and a blessing and why watch it struggle or worse die? We brought in the water in the big bucket and filled the hole with water. Tomorrow, we will do the same! Who ever said Queen Palms aka Syagrus Romanzoffiana, are not spectacular has not seen them in their glory. The palms they have seen probably came from Florida and do not do well here! Those Florida Queens typically are yellowed and thinner. 

California Queen Palms are gorgeous with full feathery fronds and strong trunks! Check it out here at this huge Italian Villa called Villa Forano in Temescal Valley. We put these palms in years ago and they still are as breathtakingly beautiful today as when they were when they were first installed.

Queen palms? They are the royalty of the palm species. Queen Palms? They are drought resistant.
