Gregory Palm Farms has some rare Phoenix rupicola palms also known as Cliff Date Palms.

The Cliff Date Palm is a species of flowering plant in the Palm family, native to the mountainous forests of India and Bhutan, usually occurring on cliffs, hillsides and similar terrain. It has long, arching, bright green leaves which are self-cleaning. The fronds are on an upright axis that hand as the tree matures. Will tolerate full sun when mature.

Typical trees usually only reach a height of about 30 feet, but some hybrids have been noted at over 70 feet.

Cliff Date Palm Characteristics
Stem/Trunk	Single, smooth, thin trunk, which gives it a much neater appearance than other species of Phoenix.
Exposure	Sun to partial shade
Soil	Tolerant of most well drained soils.
Water	Average Water Needs; Water regularly; do not overwater
Growth Rate	Moderate growth rate, 30' in height, 10' spread.

Great for large yards, parks, campuses and other spacious areas. The Reclinata (Senegal) palm is particularly impressive displayed against large structures as backdrops where its gracefully curving stems are best appreciated. Makes a great potted specimen for the patio when young. This durable palm also thrives in large containers and other confined areas in urban landscapes. Its drought tolerant, but looks more attractive and grows faster if periodically watered. The Reclinada grows at a moderate rate and can reach 30 feet to 40 feet in height.

Off the sandy coastline of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, are some one-of-a-kind islands. Artificial and manmade, these islands are shaped like palm trees, hence the name Palm Islands. Made from 12 million pounds of rock and over 53 million pounds of sand, these islands hold the record for being the largest manmade islands and can be seen from outer space.

This impressive archipelago was the vision of Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum and carried out by state-owned developer Nakheel Properties. The islands were thought up as way to deal with the decreasing oil revenue that resulted from depleted oil supplies. Despite having a projected fifteen year finish date, Palm Islands took only four years to finish.

The Palm Jumeirah is the only island that is open to the public and houses both commercial and residential real estate. The famous seven-star luxury hotel, Burj Al Arab is located on Jumeirah as well as other well-known tourist attractions like The Trunk and 16 Fronds.

The islands have generated millions for Nakheel, a cool $98 million in 2012. And it's because of this success that a proposal was made for a similar project to be constructed along the River Thames in London. The proposed two islands would house tourist attractions like opera houses, waterfront cafes and theaters and would be undertaken by the same firms involved with the Palm Islands in Dubai.
