HOW DID WE FIND A WAY TO INSTALL THOSE DATE PALMS IN MISSION VIEJO? (STARTING AT $200.00 PER FOOT! )BY GREGORY PALM FARMS 714-814-8525 GPF DID IT AGAIN!

Hi!

We were in Mission Viejo yesterday for an installation.

The obstacles were many!

Between the narrow entrance to the back yard, the plumbing/irrigation holes/trenches,

the cement work for the pool and the plain ole access, made this job tougher and bit more stressful.

BEFORE

This is the tiny access we had to bring a 5,000 pound Phoenix Dactylifera Date palm

AND

the equipment that is needed for the planting.

We managed to do it anyway!!!!

One and then two...

AFTER

We got it in there and saved all the flatwork with layers of plywood and our technical equipment - ran by our awesomely talented driver, Kevin!

Here we are at Anaheim Hills today installing our gorgeously tall, Washingtonia Robustas!

Why you ask?

The owner, selling the property, had a crew "trim" the old Washingtonia Robustas and the communication lines got blurred. They CUT DOWN six palms to the ground.

You could only imagine the new owners dismay to find our their palms were gone!

So, Gregory Palm Farms got on the job and installed six beautiful Washingtonia Robustas to replace the ones they destroyed.

How big is the root ball? The root ball has to be large for the ballast of the tree. Otherwise, they don't stand and thrive.

JOB WELL DONE AND READY FOR THE NEW OWNERS!

Good day All!

All Palms have their scientific name and common name most of us know them by. Gregory Palms Farms has huge selections of the Arecastrum Romanzoffianum which is the scientific name of the commonly known Queen Palm.

The Queen palms are a tall, medium trunk, straight tree reaching up to 50 feet tall, gracefully feathery top with a smooth trunk to 25', edible orange fruits. They are used extensively by tropical landscapers as an attractive, durable palm. The Queen Palm can be exposed to full sun, heat and cold and its growth rate is fast with a moderate water need.

Here we are at a customer's home with a 12' Canary in need of a proper trim. Why? As the tree grows, water and dirt get in between the cut fronds and they start to deteriorate. Sometimes, Canary Palm owners prefer to have the more natural trunk design rather than the trimmed or skinned trunk design. The problem is, after time the fronds will fall off and the trunks look spotted or junky. Here, you can see that if you wait long enough, the fronds simply pull off! It's okay for a while, but then moisture could get in and damage the tree. Do yourself and your Canary Island Date Palm a favor, trim your palm.
