The Windmill palm makes a great accent which fits well into small areas like courtyards and entries. It is a tough plant and survives in both hot & cold urban landscapes and even thrives in Northern California and Washington climates.

Windmill palm is perfect for containers if care is taken that they are well drained. It is very attractive planted in groves and groupings especially when plants of different heights are staggered in irregular patterns.

Windmill Palm Characteristics

Stem/Trunk:
Single stem that is 8-10" in diameter.Trunks are usually covered with a loose mat of coarse gray or brown fiber.

Exposure: Partial shade is best, also cold hardy

Soil: Well drained soil
Water: Adequate moisture makes for rapid growth and best appearance but it is amazingly drought tolerant

Growth Rate: Moderate - 30'-40' height

The  Archontophoenix Cunninghamiana or better known as the King Palm is a fascinating palm. A King Palm is a widely adaptable palm that adds stately accent to any landscape. This popular, elegant, and fast-growing palm from southern and eastern Australia has grass green leaves, a slim trunk, and a long, smooth crownshaft. Good day All!

All Palms have their scientific name and common name most of us know them by. Gregory Palms Farms has huge selections of the Arecastrum Romanzoffianum which is the scientific name of the commonly known Queen Palm.

The Queen palms are a tall, medium trunk, straight tree reaching up to 50 feet tall, gracefully feathery top with a smooth trunk to 25', edible orange fruits. They are used extensively by tropical landscapers as an attractive, durable palm. The Queen Palm can be exposed to full sun, heat and cold and its growth rate is fast with a moderate water need.

Gregory Palm Farms has some of the most unique palms including the Ribbon Fan Palms. The scientific name is Livistonia Decipiens. The Ribbon fan palm is a slender palm tree with large fan-shaped leaves that hang down like ribbons at the tips that is how it gets its name. The Ribbon fan palm is one of the most graceful members of the Livistona genus. It has a fast growth rate and can grow up to 30 to 40 feet when mature. The Livistonia Decipien doesn't require much maintenance and is an outside  palm that loves full sunlight. Its drought and cold resistant and requires moderate watering. All around a great palm in the Livistonia family.
