HOW TALL IS A CANARY ISLAND DATE PALM OVER ALL? 

This Canary Island Date Palm is approximately18 feet of bare trunk height so the overall height is the trunk plus the pineapple and plus  the extension of the fronds. How tall is this Canary Palm Overall? This Canary is about 32 feet tall.  Incredibly impressive and delightfully hardy and just plain awesome!

Hi, 

This large 16 foot Canary weighing over 17,000 pounds is at its new home waiting to be offloaded and settled in with a 45 ton crane! While awaiting the crane there’s still much work to be done. After the hole is dug and pipes are set for proper air circulation, we need lots of course sand to fill in after the Canary is set. The sand bags weigh about 1000 pounds each. We used 3 gravel bags and 2 sand bags under the tree for proper drainage and five more to fill in the rest of the hole. The Canary Island Date palm needs a lot of water but it has to drain well to prevent root rotting.

Have you heard of the pony tail palm or Elephants foot palm? They are very slow growing, require very little water and make unique beautiful potted palms for indoors with the added benefit of natural air purification. Yes, palm plants help clean our air in our homes. Kentia Palms and pigmy palms also do great indoors given their slow growth rate. They thrive well with just indoor light and lower humidity.
