THE CURLY PINDO PALM! PINDO PALM ALSO THE JELLY PALM
Interested in edible Fruit Palms? Aside from the popular Medjool date palms theres edible fruit produced from the Jelly palm too. They are not only edible but delicious. Its flavor is compared to the Apricot. The fruit has a lot of pectin so it’s perfect for making jelly, hence the name. The fruit of the Jelly palm are in season and ripen starting in fall through early winter and fall to the ground when they are ripe. This palm tree is hardy, drought and cold tolerant and makes both an ornamental and edible edition to the landscape.

We are busy on the farm pulling and wrapping these Jelly Palms root balls and preparing a large order for delivery. Jelly Palms and Mediterranean Fan Palms are drought tolerant and very hardy. They are one of the most cold tolerant palms and are great in temperate climates. They love full sun and are great for patios and planters! They require minimal maintenance and cleanup! Both Palms have the greenish-blue fronds. Looking to make them pop more? We can Install night lighting effects. The Mediterraneans multi-trunk structure becomes illuminated while the fronds cast unique beautiful shadows and pattens on nearby walls.

The Jelly Palm produces ripe fruit that are yellowish/orange in color. The taste is a mixture of pineapple, apricot, and vanilla. It is tart and sweet at the same time.
It has blue green feather palm pinnate leaves that arch inwards towards a thick stout trunk. It is known as one of the hardiest feather palms.
