Good Morning Friends!!

New project for Gregory Palm Farms was a success! Yesterday, we had our staff out in Los Angeles doing a removal of an ill Canary Island Date Palm as seen in the first picture above. The dead Canary Palm had to be dug out and removed to make way for a new Canary Island Date Palm. Before inserting the new palm the hole and palm were treated with fungicide to make sure anything that was left from the previous palm would not stay behind and make the new palm ill too. Once that process was finished, the new palm was set in and back filled with washed, cleaned sand. Now, it stands beautifully in its new home as shown in the picture above!

The kentia palm (Howea Forsteriana) is one of the world's most popular indoor palms. In fact, it's sometimes called the sentry palm, presumably because of the entry ways it guards. 

The kentia palm is perhaps not the most beautiful or graceful of all palm trees, but it has everything you could ask for: it's shade tolerant, cold tolerant and doesn't grow too alarmingly large. Under the right conditions, a kentia palm will eventually grow into a magnificent specimen plant, up to 10 feet tall.

Gregory Palm Farms brings you the Bismarck Palm. Its scientific name is Bismarckia Nobilis and its native to the Island of Madagascar. It has a heavy crown and majestic blue-green fronds that fan out. It does great in a dry and wet environment such as that of Madagascar. The Bismarck Palm grows slowly but once it settles and matures it can grow fast. This single trunk beauty can stand alone or in groupings to attract attention inside or outside. Its low maintenance and moderate water needs make it a plus.
