Here we with another start of a beautiful week overlooking our beautiful palm trees and view here at Gregory Palm Farms. We are very busy getting ready for another productive week here at the farm, we already have several installs scheduled for this week. It was a very hot weekend over here at the farm but rest assured our beautiful palms are getting the hydration they deserve!

This week, we planted a 20 foot Canary style palm in our backyard and it was truly a sight to see. Its total weight is about 20,000 lbs. We had Burl Gregory overseeing the installation and Kevin Gregory making sure everything was going according to plan. These canaries are very hot right now and very in when it comes to the trends in the palm tree world. Take a look below, you will definitely see why. HE HAD BEEN AT THE FARM THREE TIMES. ONCE WITH HIS CONSTRUCTION GUY RICCO. 

THEN, RICCO CAME BY HIMSELF. 

AND THEN, CHRISTOPHER CAME BACK BY HIMSELF.  

HE WAS DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE "SOMEONE" HAD SAID IT WOULD BE TOO COSTLY AND TOO HARD TO INSTALL A CANARY ISLAND DATE PALM IN HIS BACK YARD. 

HE WAS AT THE GREGORY PALM FARMS AND WE CLEARED UP THAT OPINION QUICK FAST! 

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE WEIGHT, THE ACCESS AND THE CHECKBOOK.

WHILE HE IS INCHING IT CLOSER AND CLOSER TO THE HOLE. 

IN THE HOLE IT GOES AND THE WASHED SAND IS NEXT AND THE COMPACTION BEGINS. 

YAYAYAY!! A HUGE SUCCESS STORY FOR OUR CANARY AND HIS NEW HOME.

Canary Island Date Palms and Phoenix Dactylifera Date Palms are like uummmm
... Batman and Robin, Sonny and Cher, Bert and Ernie, ham and eggs, bread and butter, chipped beef and gravy.... well you get the picture.  Beautiful in their own right, but aren't they a handsome pair?

Fortunately for us, we have them here at the Gregory Palm Farms so you can see first hand their similarities, their differences, their uniqueness and all their glorious shade!!

Here, we have the Canaries on the right and left with the Dacts in the middle. The fronds are tied up since the transplant. But aren't they glorious together!!! 

The diamond cut on the trunk of the Dact versus the smooth trunk of the Canary!

The large pineapple head of the Canary and the slender top of the Dact!

The Canaries have a robust green while the Dact have a (tied up) lighter blueish-green!

So, here you go... together at last. Like parted lovers together again, Elizabeth and Darcy. haha
