Interested in edible Fruit Palms? Aside from the popular Medjool date palms theres edible fruit produced from the Jelly palm too. They are not only edible but delicious. Its flavor is compared to the Apricot. The fruit has a lot of pectin so it’s perfect for making jelly, hence the name. The fruit of the Jelly palm are in season and ripen starting in fall through early winter and fall to the ground when they are ripe. This palm tree is hardy, drought and cold tolerant and makes both an ornamental and edible edition to the landscape.
