The owner of a large, 5 acre residential home in Laguna Beach has chosen Gregory Palm Farms to install several large Canary Island Palm Trees along with a variety of other palm trees for their overall landscape design.

The Canary Island Date Palm is a large majestic palm, with a very solid trunk and long feather leaves with spined petioles. These palms have a single, wide, heavy trunk brown trunk with characteristic leaf diamonds on the trunk.

 The Canary Island Palm is quite a popular plant due to its hardiness, attractiveness and speed of growth. It is has low water needs, is tolerant of most well drained soils and can reach heights of 60 feet with a 30 - 50 foot spread on the crown.

Canary Island Palms are very good for adding a Mediterranean feel.

Due to the massive size of the Canary Island Date Palms, large cranes are needed to carefully move the trees into position for installation. Sometimes they have to be craned up slopes, over walls and even over the roof of houses or buildings.
