With California being the Palm Capital, there are bound to be questions about these trees and their care.

In an effort to assist you, here are some answers...

"How tall does a Palm Tree grow?"

Each variety have different qualities of growth and depending on the water and soil conditions it will vary. Here is an approximation!

The Canary Island Date Palm...

Canaries are a large majestic palms, with a very solid trunk, and long feather leaves with spine petioles. Quite a popular plant due to its hardiness, attractiveness and speed of growth. We have them at the farm as tall as 45 feet but I have seen them up to 60 feet. Their circumference is anywhere between 6 to 9 feet.  They love full sun and a slow grower!

The King Palm....

The King Palm is very popular, elegant, and fast-growing palm from southern and eastern Australia has grass green leaves, a slim trunk, and a long, smooth crown shaft. An easy-to-grow plant suitable for cool temperate to tropical climates, or for indoors if given bright light. The King Palm is also self-cleaning, which makes maintaining a King very attractive. A medium grower! They are petite while young and develop the same way.

         The Queen Palm...

The Queen palms are a tall, medium trunk, straight tree reaching up to 50 feet tall, gracefully feathery top with a smooth trunk to 25', edible orange fruits. A fast grower! Their root system is pencil-like and can be planted easily in planters or side yards. These trees are so hardy! Great for a hammock too!!

The Phoenix Dactylifera...

Date Palms are probably the second most well-known palm after the coconut , this palm produces dates. However, despite this palm being extremely adaptable to differing growing conditions, from hot, dry deserts, to wet tropics, and thru to cold-temperate regions, it will only produce dates in the hot, dry climates. It is also very salt-tolerant, making it good for coastal planting. This Palm  is medium grower! . They are the favorite for the Anaheim area. The tricky part is maintaining the diamond cut trunk!

The Phoenix Roebelenii - Pygmy Date Palm...

The Pygmy Date Palm is a small stature, delicate lacy appearance and easy care make this an exceptional palm that everyone can enjoy whether outdoor or in indoor containers.
Pygmy date palm excels in containers of all kinds. Also looks great by patios and entry ways. Use clumps of these palms as specimens and to serve as focal point in a mass planting of annuals. Also nice combined with evergreen shrubs in a mixed hedge.
